I agree ecox. I'm a big fan as well. Your Cigars look great. I have these as well along with Colour 8 and Ravello. Very comfortable and versatile. Go Chukkas!

Thanks in advance.

As in your heel slips? If it's on the barrie, the heel cup is pretty roomy. You can rock thicker socks...or be patient and the sole will break in after a few wearings allowing the shoe to flex with your foot. This is what i have found with all my Aldens. IMO

I gotta say, I'm shocked these didn't get instakop type love on the fora. These boots may be the most comfortable shoes I own, and think they're bitchin cool with khakis and raw denim...

^ In relation to my forefoot, my heel is rather narrow. Therefore, heel slip is a fact of life for all of my robust double-soled dress shoes.
To minimize the slip, I've adopted the lock-lacing pattern.

Try it out, it'll lock in your heel without noticeabley squeezing your forefoot.

^ agreed, I love the boots, have a pair myself, and they don't need any additional brushing other than to keep a minimal shine as per any other shoe

Love the shine on your Cigars. Chukkas and PTBs do a wonderful job of showing cordovan shell patina. I have the Chukka in both Cigar and Color 8. I think the key for the Chukka boot is to spend the time getting the right size. Doing so will minimize creasing and general fit issues. I followed the general forum advice and purchased in 9.5e at first. They felt loose so I went another size down to 9e and they fit perfectly now with much less creasing than I saw on the looser fitting pair.

I have the LWB in shell (#8 and Ravello) and calf. The chukka is in CXL.

The Chukkas don't feel as secure on the feet due to the minimal lacing but they do fit the same.

I think this is the case. Plus the slightly looser heel from stiffer new shoes. I'll keep this size then. The color is amazing. It's slightly more red than my CXL shoes from Oakstreet.

I've seen a few pairs of blue suede Alden's here and on the suede appreciation thread.  When I contacted Alden, they stated that these were made at the request of an Alden retailer.  Can anyone give me a lead on an Alden retailer selling blue suede?  Much appreciated.

I know this was from awhile back, but holy crap that is a smoking hot shoe. I wish I had a freaking normal width foot.
