I was also told that the Alden paste wax is really more of a cream and couldn't be used with a spit shine because of its texture. Any thoughts? thanks...
I have the color #8 paste wax recommended by Alden, but haven't used it yet.
What I have used: Meltonian delicate shoe cream
. That shit does wonders, with a very light application. I was able to turn two fairly dried out pairs of whiskey shells into amazing specimens with a few min of pressure buffing after putting a dab of Meltonian on.
The supposed drawbacks are that the cream/polish will get stuck in the creases/ripples and cause a white buildup. That doesn't happen with the Meltonian delicate cream. Just gotta be sparse with the amount used, and heavy on the pressure while rubbing in.
Sure wish I had some before/after pics of my Rider Boot whiskey shells and Vass whiskey shell ptbs... turned out waaay better than I'd hoped

That's a great price considering you can return them if the defect is noticeable or undesirable.Edited by furo - 2/8/12 at 12:35pm
