In general I have bought aldens in size 10D and they fit both feet well in most of the lasts except the truebalance where my right (smaller foot) heel has some movement. Is there an insert or something I can use to fill in that little bit of extra space? Any recommendations on a product?

I realize I could go down to a 9.5D which would solve my right foot issue but then my left foot would be crammed into a shoe/boot 1/2 size too small.

I haven't had a lot of success with heel pads. They always come off and leave a sticky mess. I know that cobblers can attach something more permanently to help the issue, but I've never had it done.

Thanks for the head's up. I can actually wear 6E and it's tempting; however, I realize that 6.5D works better because the extra lengths makes it 'sleeker' (okay, it's really impossible for the Barrie to be sleek). I've bought from Alden SF before and very happy with their service. Maybe I can pre-order a 6.5D. Thanks for the lead!

I'm a wide-ish 11 on the brannock and a perfect 10.5 on the barrie. The 10.5 marlow was too snug in the toe box and the 11D fit much better. Not sure if it's available in an E width but my RL store only had the D to try on. I'm now waiting for the next private sale in hopes of buying them. My local RL SA is great about emailing me to notify me about the sales.

I found the Marlow/Darlton to be an "in betweener" size as someone above mentioned. It was a perfect "no fit" solution. They were on a fantastic sale at the time, marked down 40% I believe, but the size problem was a non-starter for me. The sz 8 was too tight, and the 8.5 was too roomy.

#8 Plain toe boot is actually an irregular. From the handful of lasts that I have tried, the Modified definitely fits the best.

Is Ed one of the managers? Do you by chance have his e-mail? If so, would you mind PMing it? Thanks.

Still don't understand why sometimes I get TSM 2nds list and sometimes I don't...maybe they're sent out slowly and I'm at the end of the alphabet or something, hopefully I'll get the list sometime today!

Owners are good people to know smile.gif

I will call and see if I can get in touch with him.

Regarding the irregulars e-mail, I find them sporadic since it depends on how often they receive irregulars from Alden.

Can someone send me the seconds list as well - looking for 8 or 8.5 in size.

I hadn't seen a 2nds list since November 25th 2011, so last week on Monday I send a message asking if there was an updated list. They sent me three emails the following day (Feb 1st) with the sizes I was interested in. Now I'm wondering if I got the new list or the old list.
