They are darker in real life and will hide them in the closet while I decide whether to keep them. Can't let the wife know I just got a second pair of shoes in the past week smile.gif

When I got mine in January, it was boxed inside a J.Crew box. However, mine did include the shoebags.

Can't decide if the handsewn portion is too casual

2-Eye Chukka Boot - Color 8 Shell Cordovan

Of course not. Could that be any more casual?

I think the last is different with the boot above looking like the Plaza and Day Tripper is on the Barrie IIRC.

Someone said that there's a way to search the New York Alden Store inventory online.  For the life of me I can't find this, could someone post a link?

Gents, can anyone please inform me about the 379X last?  To what last would it equate to (TruBalance/Barrie/etc.)?

to put it into context: The Bureau has an Alden Snuff Suede Blucher Boot available, and their description includes the following:

"This boot is made on the 379X last which is an old WWII military boot last."

http://www.thebureaubelfast.com/shop/product/1875/alden-snuff-suede-blucher-boot/

the boot is nice, but I am unfamiliar with the 379X last, so I'm wondering how they'll fit -

Those are pretty sharp, way better looking than the 404. What was the total cost in USD?
Thx

$647.09 (409 British Pounds) - more expensive than the 404's, no doubt, but I like them

one thing that I've learned here (and maybe you'll agree) is that, if you really like a certain pair of Aldens, you have to not wait or think about it, you have to buy them immediately, because who knows when you'll get the opportunity again smile.gif

(edit: just to reinforce the statement above, I think I grabbed the last pair they have in my size thumbs-up.gif)
