^ Thanks much guys! Been pretty much following the Mac Method on these, though I'm not sure it's necessarily recommended for Natural Chromexcel. I also did one application of Neatsfoot OIl when I got them (hoping to darken them up a bit). I like how they're turning out.
Also, you'll notice I left the word "Natty" out of the caption.
I sorta wouldn't want to risk it. You could get burned and receive calf since they certainly don't state it's shell anywhere. And, there are no returns or anything...
Enough already. THEY ARE SHELL. I bought the navy ones and love them. Never seen anything like this from Alden so grab them while you can at this ridiculous price.

Guys i got the Alden Longwings Bluchers..I am not sure if i got the fit right here with these. Let me explain..
If i push my feet as much as i can into the shoes without feeling uncomfortable, there is space for a finger at the back of my heel area. Without socks, there is a very slight heel slippage.
I would appreciate any advice. Edited by onijo84 - 2/1/12 at 8:27am

How's the space on the sides of your heels? If you can stick a finger on either side of your heel when your foot is pushed back... welcome to the Barrie last.
got my Jcrew Indy's on monday and wore them out on Tuesday. Got the fit right this time so I'll be returning the size 8's now. They also fit better than the same size plain toe boots I got.
I wish I also bought the #8 cap toes and a pair of LWBs with the 30% off at Jcrew
If you can find a 30% off code that works with Aldens, I'm all eyes. Most of the ones I see, if you read the fine print, explicitly state that Aldens are exempt from the discount.
REGuy - Thanks for the sizing advice. These are my first Aldens and the common consensus was to size 0.5 down from the Brannock scale. I wear a UK 9 G in Church's Consul/ 43 in CP.
Joe - Once I have tied the shoe laces, I can push a finger through the side of my heels with a little force. The heel area fits snug though. I barely have wiggle room for my toes when worn 'normal' (without pushing my feet as much as i could into the shoe). Do they feel big and bulky when worn or am I having this feeling because of wearing lighter and much sleeker profiled shoes?

It happened in some of J.Crew's holiday sales at the end of last year; apparently they had trouble figuring out how to block them from the storewide sale. First they seemingly forgot to make the Aldens off limits at all, then they set the site to say they were out of stock but there was some way to add them to your cart anyway, then some people found that if you added them to your cart before a sale started, even if they were off limits during the sale you'd still get 30% off the pair in your cart.
