Despite being only a block from my office, I finally made it to the Alden store today...

I was told that while the selection in 3E is quite limited, they can make any shoe in this size as a special order for no additional charge. Does anyone know if this is true during sales as well?

Without digging through hundreds of pages (search has failed me), how frequently, if ever, does Alden have direct sales events?

Seconds on shoemart is the only real sale you'll find.

Sherman Bros just had a trunk show and all Aldens were 15% off. Invitation only I think. It wasn't online.

I wouldn't count on many Aldens going on sale, but In the past there have been a few styles that got marked down. Usually it's a style that only has one or two pairs left and isn't going to be re-ordered.

I live in Toronto Canada and I ordered a pair of Aldens from Leather Soul on the 1st of December. It's now the 16th. USPS tracking is terrible its only truely been updated twice in that time. Once at the sorting facility in Hawaii and once when it landed in California...I for sure wont see them until after Christmas or even the new year at this rate. They have not even reached the border/cusoms yet.

Between special orders and shipping, these f'ing shoes bring more stress than they do joy at times...

Be patient...
