I clicked on the free shipping link from this forum, but no free shipping. Sent Kirby an email.

Thanks for help everyone. The advanced search capabilities of this site have gone down hill from what I remember from earlier this year...

Yeah same here. I don't know his email, so I just sent them a general contact through their site.

I had bought the J. Crew plain toe boots a few weeks ago and they were not expected to ship to me until the middle of January. Luckily I had a nice surprise waiting for me when I got home from work last night. I really like the color and the deal was hard to beat at 30% off when I got them. I think I'm going to switch out the laces with a pair of the waxed leather ones... or maybe I'll go the NewYorkRanger and put in something nice and bright (I really like the way that looks in his photos).

Now I just need to sit back and hope that the suede longwings I ordered can come in a month early too!

i recieved my cordovan captoe boots from jcrew yesterday. I was wondering what kind of socks do you guys normally wear with them?

When i wear my thinner dress socks the shoes are a bit snug in my larger foot, but i think ok. its a bit tight in the ball area of my foot but its not crushing my toes or anything.
in my thicker boot socks, they are bit uncomfortable all around. Of course, they are brand new...

is my sizing correct you think?

wear whatever's more comfortable. I have 3 pairs of aldens, 2 on the barrie last and one on a sleeker last. with the former I wear casual socks (dress socks are too loose) and with the latter I can wear only dress socks. there's no hard and fast rule..

on that note, if anyone is looking to unload alden boots in 11d on a non-barrie / trubalance last get at me biggrin.gif

I actually use a damp paper towel to do the initial wipe, followed by brushing.  I do the final buff with either shoe buffing cloths or a (clean) old t-shirt.
