Wow those look really amazing! One of the best looking make-ups in a long time. Sigh...still waiting on my Chromexcel LHS from that same contest a year ago. Was hoping to wear them a few times before the snow hits up here in Toronto...does not look good frown.gif

It's too bad nobody has any pics of similar ones like the alpine perf tip boot.
I think the edge trim on the epaulet's was a big blunder unfortunately. Unless of course it doesn't really look like that colorwise.

I have the perf toes and can throw up some pics if you like later tonight. These are a sweet model, though, and would buy them if they didn't look so similar to the other ones I have. still thinking about it.

Alan, the boot looks great. I was going to order them, but just can go for the commando sole. If it was an oiled sole, then I would have had to add that my collection.

Excellent, thank you.

Regarding the commando soles, the inspiration was an American version of an English country boot. I wanted something that I could wear with tweed and cords in wet or snowy weather. I probably would have preferred something like Dainite, however Tricker's uses a commando type sole themselves. I would love to see these become a staple (re)order for LS.

I look forward to braving the elements with these this fall and winter.

dainite is not for snow and winter, period.

nice boots

Dainite can only deal with a light dusting of snow that can sometimes happen in the South of the USA or in London in my experience. The kind of snow that I use the broom to clear off my porch. Anything requiring a shovel requires lugs or overshoes.

Here are a pair of Shoemart seconds I just received. All my other boots/shoes are Barrie 8.5d (or Grant 9d) so I wanted to see how these brown suede captoe boots on double leather soles in 8E on the Barrie would fit. They fit OK but look blobbier to me due to the E width. I noticed a couple of imperfections - one with the suede on the left shoe below the captoe and the other on the inside leather of the right ankle. They are also a darker brown than in the picture. Not sure if I'll keep them. I ordered a different second from shoemart - brown suede PTB with flex sole that if they fit (8D on Barrie) I'll probably keep instead.
