does the Plaza run narrow? I found a used pair that's half a width wider than my normal size and have wishful thinking

Thanks for posting the pic. Doesn't make the decision any easier...that cap-toe would be sweet in black with jeans. (Beats head against wall)

IMO, black boots can look a bit boring with jeans. I'd highly suggest a brown but since that's not an option I'd go for the #8. I've seen the #8 in person and it's very dark so there really isn't too much of a difference from the black but it adds a little character.

I already own the Indy boot in cordovan #8. Yes, there is no doubt that it comes off more interesting with jeans. Being in love with Alden boots I was thinking of adding a black cordovan lace-up to my collection and wondered between the AF-43 on the same last as my Indy's (tru-balance) and the cap-toe AF-60 on the plaza which everyone would think would be more versatile. (jeans, chinos, wool)

Do you have pics of your Indy #8 with jeans. I'm leaning towards #8 Alden boots but will have to scrap together some extra cash...

I will post some when I get home from work. Honestly, the Indy in #8 has quickly become my favorite boot to pair with jeans (APC, Nudie, etc). Like it was mentioned, the color is really dark..in low light conditions it looks black but the color is a beautiful shade of red/brown/black. Much more interesting than black IMO. I'd just like to add a black pair possibly in a different last because black boots are so versatile and I love Aldens so much.

I'm not a giant fan of the plaza toe box but if you're wearing these with APCs I'd suggest the AF-43 because the heel wouldn't be as chunky. I've never been sure my Indy's looked good with my jeans with smaller leg openings...but I've done it.

Over the last couple years I've tried to get away from boot-cut jeans (Diesels in my past) as I am only 5'7 and have learned a lot about my body type and what looks good from reading this forum. I can say that my #8 Indy's are one of the only pairs I own that I can honestly say look fine on me with bootcuts. I primarily wear straight leg or slim raws these days so that info. about the AF-43 and slim jeans helps me. Thanks!

ya, they actually have a few more pair and I will post a link in the forum after decide on a pair.... thinking I am going to go with the #8 .... or maybe the black... urgh.. I like the look of the #8 but having a tough time with the shiny shoe with jeans/casual wear.

Yes, I find that the plaza last runs narrow. Short too, I wear a 9.5 in Indys and barrie last chukkas and
have plaza wing tips in 10 that are a bit snug width-wise. May sell 'em...

I love the look of the plaza last tho, most refined of Alden's lasts in my humble opinion....

Do you own Alden boots on the plaza last? If so, what do you typically pair them with? I do like the soft square toe.

I haven't been able to "shell" out for the cordovan ones...

I've been bugging Tom at Leathersoul to do some wing-tip boots plaza last in calf
but he has no plans to. Anyway, I think I might need an E width in those. Might just order
them from Alden directly someday...
