Too many 8ds on here you guys should probably size down maybe a 7.5e just a suggestion. No ulterior motives.

Ordered the context snuff suede roy boot - should be in tomorrow. I've been dying for a pair of suede boots for some time, but never settled on the right last/sole/color combo. Fall here we come.

You always hear no untreated suede in the rain, but why?

i checked those out. the context roy is on the trubalance, and i am ok with that*. i was looking for a boot that falls more on the casual side and was afraid that the leffot boot looked a little too refined. the j. crew snuff was an option but barrie + crepe turned me off.

*the indy boots i had in the past killed my feet so i sold them, and i avoided the trubalance since then. however, last time i was in J Gilbert i tried on the reverse-chamois indy and it was super comfortable. giving it a shot on these roy boots.

Great pick up. I almost got them as well (but a few other purchases got in the way).

I've had my Quoddy suede mocs completely soaked several times and honestly they were no worse for the wear. Never done that with my suede Aldens though. Spray them for sure. Maybe try Nano spray?

Although I don't have the suede Roy, I do have the CXL Roy Boot and it has been my daily driver for about two years. Fantastic boot for looks, comfort and durability. Also, can't give the guys at Context high enough praise for customer service & all around professionalism. I happened to be in Madison earlier this Summer and they showed me around the store (while my four year old son wrecked havoc) and gave me extra boot laces.

Here's my Roy Boot - I usually use SR but last week applied Alden neutral Fine Boot Cream, which changed their look from the usual luster to more of a shine. I'm sure that will change as the weather turns.

Hah, agreed, I am 8D too. I think many of us are in the PA area too :). No wonder everything I try to buy is sold out in 8D like right away!

Just received my first pair of Aldens (and Corodovan) yesterday. I had to wait 7 months!!! (special order for my EEE feet)

Photos to come.

7 months? That's the fastest Alden pre-order I've heard of lately. Let me know when you wait 3+ years :teach:

Congrats on your first pair of shell though, which pair did you get?

Bring on the photos.

I wish more of these "special make ups" involved custom sizing, at least with respect to widths - maybe offer C, EE & EEE in addition to the typical D or D & E offerings. Some stockists do, if you ask (which I really appreciate).

Hey Shawnc - I was one of the folks asking about the Alt Wein recently. And my interest was absolutely spurred by seeing that shoe on this site. If it wasn't sold out, I'd order one right now.:slayer:

I'm still a rookie at this CEE88 and I seem to fall in and out of love with what I see on this site like a teenager going through puberty. But the one constant has been these epaulet alt wiens. I got the last one in my size and couldn't be happier with the purchase.

Like everything else Alden you really gotta act when you see something. I'm glad you didn't beat me to the punch on those Leffot tankers! Should go along side the cap toes quite nicely.

It's a rough life isn't it? I hopefully have some shell indys coming next month from JGilbert, but I couldn't pass on the tankers. Luckily I'm done with shell boots until some browns come back someday.
