Brannock size 9.5 D, my boot game is strong but I don't think that will fly. Open to suggestion on choices and or different make ups. So if anyone is gettig rid of anything or can help me out I would appreciate it!

mdubs and @sazon gotta have ideas the end is near

Congratulations! I would go 975 all day long for the wedding. Then wear the hell out of them and when your ready for a resole, send them to Alden and have them put on the antique welt and sole. If you try to change them with sanding as some have suggested they won't look right because the welt will be dark. My 2 cents...

2014 was a watershed year for me and Aldens.  Although I had purchased 2 pair in 2013, 2014 was the year I discovered the Barrie last.  Its all been downhill since

- Cigar PTB

- Whiskey PTB

- #8 PCT Boots x J Crew

- Snuff Suede LWB

2015 in production:

- Snuff Suede WT Boots

- #8 Alt-Weins

Gentlemen,

I would like to offer my humble advice for how to balance your passion for Alden's and your passion for pleasing your wives.

DISCLAIMER:  I am by no means an expert....I am just sharing what has worked for me.

I have found that my wife appreciates and even encourages some of my Alden and other shoe purchases when I get her involved with my hobby.

She likes to hear me talk about the ins and outs of shoe-making, the difference between the makers and the "exotic-ness" of certain types of cordovan.

And she loves to be involved, she likes it when I shine my shoes and my boys are crowded around me wanting to "help" Daddy shine his Alden's.

This is the best way to balance your enjoyment of Alden's and making your wife happy.  Make her feel a part of your passion.

EXAMPLE:  I went to pull the trigger recently on a new pair of Day-Trippers and when I told my wife about them she rolled her eyes and said; "I thought you were done for awhile....."  And then I said; "They're Ravello...."  And she smiled big and said;  "Oh, let me see them...."

Ravello is her favorite cordo shade........
