I am a 10.5D in AEs.  Considering some used 10d Alden burgundy shell via ebay since it is out of my price range at full retail.

These are the shoes in question which I believe are on the plaza last, but please correct me if you believe otherwise.

Zen, most go true to size on the Plaza Last. I am a 10.5C on the AE 5-last (Strand) and wear 10.5C plaza.

I have that Alden x BB model in both Color 8 and Black Shell and it is fantastic. It has a lot of character. :-)

Here is with shorts. Not sure why, but it's not on my phone.

From spring to fall, I'm typically in chinos on Fridays and shorts on weekends. The shorts are grey, navy, some form of plaid or khaki colored (I barely wear denim in the summer). With shorts I almost always wear tan LWB (with no show socks) or CXL LHS. I've sold many shoes, but one pair I miss the most was cigar LHS as I could wear those on casual Friday and its this short outfit

Thanks guys. I can see wearing tan suede spring through fall where I live. While its use may be limited to chinos, denim, and shorts, it really seems to look great worn that way.

Are there situations/outfits where you feel tan suede is better than snuff, though?

Thanks for the feedback guys.  Sounds like these won't work for me.

It does look like it has a lot of characters in the pics, I will keep an eye out for a 10.5D.

Sounds like a good plan my friend.

However, I will do my Uncle Mac pitch and remind you to consider the 974 or 9741! :-)

I have tried sizing up one-half size and down in width to 8D to see if that size would work in grant and plaza lasts because these sizes are far more plentiful than "e" widths. Unlike sizing up/width down in barrie, this strategy did not work for me in grant or plaza. I. These lasta, the shoes felt so long they were like clown shoes, but we're still too narrow.

Thanks for posting your experience.  I was about to order a pair on Grant and am the same size as you.  Width aside, did you find the length of the 7.5 in Grant acceptable?

I wear 10.5 in AE and the same in Plaza, don't size down IMO

That is a hard decision AD, creat shoe, but some risk in trying this.

Thanks for your input, gentlemen.  I decided not to pull the trigger since the shoes are in need of a resole and I wasn't ready to invest more money into them.

Yes. My brannock size is what I wear for the grant last.

Regarding Leffot vs Leather Soul... Looking at Leather Soul, they appears to have had the widest range of Alden makeups. They were a couple of years early in this Alden game, which was to their benefit. It seems that Alden has forced retailers to consolidate models a bit. That said, some of the favorite models I have owned are from LS in CXL or suede. I would love to buy their attorney shoe if it is ever available again in black and color 8 cordovan. LS gets a bad rap for some of their lists but I haven't found them too different from other retailers when it comes to favoring repeat customers. I feel like I am a mid-tier customer with them at best (I've never set foot in store and have bought maybe five models from rben) and I get treated decently well

Leffot has always killed it. I do think they push it sometimes with the antique soles, brass eyelets, etc but hey do have a few classics that we all know well. I think over the past year or so they have shown the most range.

Speaking of LS, I am on a plane right now to visit family... Ultimate Indy on my feet and Choco Tankers in the bag - very useful pairs.

I'm 7.5E in Barrie and 7.5D is too snug. I tried a Plaza loafer in 8E and it fit perfectly fine, so keep the Barrie width that's most comfortable and size up a half. That's what Alden SF told me and it's worked well so far.

You'll want 8E in Grant/Plaza.

If you are 10.5D true to size, these will be too small for you.  Also, this BB shoe is not on the plaza last.  The M-75 is similar, but not the plaza.

Hey guys, if I were to use a colored cordovan cream(not saphir reno or neutral cordovan cream) for my ravello captoes, what color would I use? I don't mind a slight darkening of the overall color. I'd probably use the colored cream every half year or so in a very minute amount, and reno once a month using the mac method. Also, if I do end up using the colored cordovan cream, should I apply some on the cap itself?

Merry Christmas gentlemen.
I hope all of you have an excellent time with your families and loved ones.

What do you guys think about chukkas in the Trubalance last from a looks perspective? It's not a common makeup so hard to find too many pics for examples but judging from my Indys, I'm guessing they'd be super comfortable.
