Regarding cedar shoe trees, I worry my large ones from Nordstrom are too big for my Aldens in 10d; they seem to fit pretty tight. Fearful I'd stretch the leather over time, I stopped by jos. A bank and bought a medium shoe trees. While they seem to be right in the length and don't put what I believe is too much pressure on the shoe, they don't fill out the width as much. Can anyone offer any guidance here?

I'm thinking of buying a woodlore twin turbo. Should I go with the medium for a size 10d on a Barrie last?

Does anyone know why Alden doesn't come out with new shoe models on a regular basis? They do a lot of MTO for stores but don't seem to add much to their existing line-up

I think that while Alden doesn't release new models they do release new variations. As an example look at the blue CXL that is now being used. Also, they have a pretty large amount of models to begin with: Longwings, shortwings, plain toe, split toe, cap toe, shoes, boots, Chukkas, etc. I cannot think of a particular style that they do not offer.

^ I'd say one of the most wanted would be a double monk.

Leffot I assume? Have the same ones and CXL is a nice weekend change to my shells.

Yes. Both the natural and brown CXL models are excellent. Very useful now that boot season is coming to a close

I'd go large man, I use large in 10.5D and it seems too small, doesn't fill up vamp as well as I'd like

I am a 10d Barrie and I have multiple Nordstroms size Large and haven't had an issue with stretching. They are actually the exact same tree that Alden sent me when I recrafted a pair, sans the Alden logo of course.

Decided to try something different with the saddles and wanted to get some leather chukkas to replace some boots I just do not wear.

^ re: new models:

Why would they? They sell everything they make, and now are past a two year backlog.

Because like any product styles get old. LS has done some interesting make ups...I'm surprised Alden doesn't follow their lead

Alden takes the lead from their retailers. Plenty of new styles are available from them. Milkshake suede Indy boots, navy CXL, saddles, etc.

Where did you get those saddles? Certainly coveted by me!
