Thanks. The problem is that shell doesn't stretch over time. Were your chukkas shell or another material?

Is there anyone that sizes down a full size from Leydon to Barrie? I got a chance to try on a 7.5 Leydon chukka and a 7 Barrie shell chukka. 7.5 on the Leydon fit perfectly, but a 7 on the Barrie last seems like it might have been a bit big but they didn't have a 6.5 for me to try on.

Kinda suprised @LeatherSOUL didn't come up with these, but they're smarter than that!

My friend, that looks a lot like the Whiskey variant of the 974 that Kathy does. Am I missing something? Maybe I need to wear those tomorrow to remind you of their awesomeness. :-)

But do they hide booze in the soles??

Considering getting these for inclement weather office wear. Does anyone know how chamois wears over time? Do they develop a significant patina?

These look awesome Vicious! I've only had a short encounter with a pair of cigar aldens (had to return because half size too big) but I think cigar is the most versatile color!

Personally, I wouldn't sweat the tightness, these can be loose fitting on some at first. The shell will give in the vamp to fit you perfectly over time. Don't mess with it. Length you can't change.

BTW I have this boot and pull it put out as a reflex, extremely versatile ... You are going to love these! Well done...

Nothing in my size but they had a 10 I think maybe E? Ravello Daytripper that got returned Kathy said.

Yeah, I've read that a few times on this site but that is definitely not my experience. My chukkas are shell.

Interesting. A call into Alden or Horween may be in order. To me, the pictures of the leather at Jcrew look significantly different than the LS and Leffot pictures. It could be function of photography, who knows. If you can pebble calf and you can pebble shell, I don't see why not you couldn't pebble CXL. Will report back what I find out.

Thanks Mike! I cannot wait for these to break in a bit so I can take em outside. These Jackson winters are brutal, but there is no way they don't get outside soon. Fit is great. The color is on the dark side of cigar, but as mentioned, there is plenty of room for patina. These are definitely sitting in the top spot for favorite boot. I'm an Indy guy through and through:)

Yeap! Kathy was wonderful. Got on the next Daytripper waiting list she said was in production. One ahead of me for 11.5D. They had a 10e I believe, return I got to see in person. Was wonderful. Would have spent more time gazing but the wife's still getting broken in slowly.

I think Kathy said there was a short wing in the works. But I'm sure you knew that wink.gif

Same experience. Chukkas on Barrie have always been snug in the mid-section for me. And that never got better honestly.

In Shell Barrie fit,
