What is everyone's opinion of the difference between the lined LHS (I.e., 986) vs. the BB Unlined LHS? Is it that stark of a difference in comfort/fit/appearance or is it a minor preferential difference?

Beautiful. Congrats man. I have yet to even take mine out of the box. May just let the wife gift them to me for Christmas.

whoa whoa whoa!  you are eating at the wrong places, sir. :)  i've had highly lauded smoked meat in memphis, NC, and KC.  it doesn't hold a candle to TX in my opinion.  there is no better brisket than that of the lone star state.  franklin's is as good as it gets.  if you don't have hours to wait, i'd suggest John Mueller or Stiles Switch in Austin.  Salt Lick is very mediocre - only upside is all you can eat.

i've also had great bbq in some unassuming places as well, such as phoenix and montreal.

Kansas City was one of my favorite stops this year.
I was only there for 2 nights. I went to Gates and Fiorella Jack Stack for dinner and a local joint outside of town that used to be a train station for lunch both days. Damn good in MO!

Gates in KCMO! Great place...

They sell Aldens too...

Haha these guys also have a stack of handwritten notes from the last 5 years all requesting rare shell.

Side note: congrats on the 379x NST color 8 boots on crepe! They look great! Was gonna text you to see if they had come in yet.

Anyone have thoughts on the cordovan plain toe loafer (8815 or 8818) carried by Alden NYC? I haven't heard much about that model or seen many pics of it being worn.

@Don L the tankers look amazing.

@Alcibiades the tankers look amazing, that combo is killing it as well. green with envy.

@FLW nice catch and welcome.

@mcarthur so nice uncle mac.

@Steel28 your boots are looking good.

Didn't mean to offend, or troll.  I've had plenty of good brisket, but I would MUCH rather have pork (pulled or ribs).  I just don't get the obsession with beef.  I suppose it is the Longhorn state.

Gents,

I'm loving the Choco suede tankers, but I keep going back to the loden suede tankers from Unipair. Thoughts?

They have my preferred E width, but I'm a bit concerned the wider size will throw off the proportions of the apron. Still, green suede tanker? Mmmmmm.
