Just scored these on eBay for an ok price. They are seconds from TSM. Does anyone know whose make up these are? I've been told they are model 4050H but I can't figure out where they were intended to go. It's simple curiosity at this point but I figured you're the guys to ask.

I think Unionmade used to sell that boot, they called it 'Buchanon Indy': http://www.pinterest.com/pin/291537775848743298/

EDIT- I just noticed yours has the NST toe, not Indy. So, I'm not sure.

You can match the Ravello and whiskey but it's not like the #8 where it almost naturally goes with everything. That doesn't mean I find Ravello unattractive or anything - just not as practical.

Yeah, I asked about the Ravello NST boots but then the fact that I'd hardly get to wear them kicked in. If they were NST shoes I'd have called already to be put on the wait list. Shell already doesn't breath so having shell boots isn't the wisest thing for me to purchase. I bought my #8 4060 from Alden DC while I was still living there.1 pair of shell boots is enough for me in Texas.

All I meant with the Tx comment was that lighter colored shoes like whiskey and ravello are great for summer wear.  You are correct in that boots are not practical from about April through September.

It is still in the 70s here so probably not practical from February to November.

rtp, i can see your smile from here, thanks for sharing.

sftg means well but he's confused. i think he thinks the lighter color boot is #8.   :hide:

Cigar chukkas - yay or nay? I'm leaning towards nay. I want cigar but maybe in short wings or longwings or NST.

@tifosi Those beauties are worth waiting years for. A couple of months, that's nothing! ;)

In terms of makeups they are going to do a #8 CT Boot on Trubalance, a NST tanker in black lady calf, and a couple of others that escape me at the moment. The Alden rep noted that there should be more rare shell coming through the pipeline in the coming months.

Thanks for the feedback. Glad to hear they're re-doing their black NST boot. Great boot for TO winter.

What is it with people always wanting to know the shoe measurements when you list something on Ebay or a sales forum? How is that accurate?Just because the outsole is a certain size doesn't necessarily mean the upper is. I would assume me saying a shoe runs TTS would provide more info than 'the sole is X long and wide'.

All the shoes I sell are E width, and people are less familiar with Alden's E Widths, so I am happy to provide measurements when asked

I don't mind but I find it's not necessarily accurate so I don't want someone to purchase based off that information and then for example find the welt wasn't cut close which made the measurement wider than it should be. Hope that made sense.

I never ask for measurements on shoes, but I almost always ask for measurements on pants and shirts. Every manufacturer and even styles within a manufacturer vary.
