I really don't think chromexcel is as "wrinkly" as many describe it here.  The unlined version can definitely wrinkle excessively.  However, my lined 403s handled a week of pounding the NYC pavements under cold, wet, snowy weather last week, and they do not look to have gained much age (wrinkles).  This is an awesome boot that will develop great character the more you use it.

If I had to do it over, I would have gone with a dark brown chrmxl wingtip boot on commando mainly because I really like commando soles, the look of the wingtip boot, and prefer the barrie last to the trubalance.  But otherwise, I am very happy with the 403.

They are on the casual side. But their lightness, slimness and thin sole set them up as a more of a dress boot. It's not the kind of boot to mostly wear with jeans IMHO.
