Am I wrong to consider the Daytripper style a completely casual beast? Don't get me wrong, I like it. But I am unsure whether it's really a versatile style. More of an outdoor boot with a somewhat refined and attractive material. Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Please post pics of the day trippers asap the color on my DC's is incredible. The were erroneously delivered to the wrong shipping address thanks to DC I was able to track down the package and met the driver in a walmart parking lot. The drop tossed the package on the dashboard before handing to me, i looked on in horror but alas all is well.

the brown, or as I like to call it, the brick color

and finally the dark brown.

I will be wearing them mainly with jeans and the occasional chino or colored denim like these wranglers:
CREATOR: gd-jpeg v1.0 (using IJG JPEG v62), default quality

I wont be wearing them in any formal setting as I have seen people being scolded for suggesting the such. And I can see the many reasons. I plan on getting some better boots for that like alden cap toe cord.

Anyways, I would just like to know how the different colors would look with these pants, and how each color ages over time. I plan on using Venetian shoe cream to keep them looking new and conditioned as well to preserve the contrasting stitching.
Thank you all, I enjoy reading all the posts here even though I am still very new.

Only the last boot of your 3 is the "403". That is the brown CXL version. That version is quite popular but I like the 405 best (the one you call brick). Its the original Indy. I find it very versatile and it doesn't get the CXL leather stretching that some CXL boots get.

For how you're going to pair it, I'd vote the 405.

Just wondering, how many wears do you think it will take for the daytrippers to become two different tones? Not really digging the look. I do have a pair coming from Leffot and hoping that mine look like MrDV's after two years of wear (although I'm guessing he probably only wore them a handful of times because of his huge rotation).

I didnt realize the "brick" wasn't CXL. Just double checked and the natural is CXL as well as the dark brown. I have seen some really pretty pictures and patina of the middle pair. The natural would be a fun color that not many people have. (from what I have seen) and the dark brown is always going to be a classic.

I'm far from an expert, but I think the two tone look across panels, unless obvious upon opening the box, will be hard to distinguish in regards to a time frame before various tones *might* develop

Agree heartily with @Sazon that the 405 is the best (non-shell) Indy.

Why? It develops a lovely patina with age, the color is much richer in real life than in stock photos, and it doesn't crease like CXL. My pair of 405s is now pushing 10 years old and still going strong. I would buy the same model again in a heartbeat. And this is coming from a guy who owns and loves my two pair of CXL Aldens (ptb, Brixton boot).

Spectacular shade and a wonderful boot at that.  To all that were fortunate to snag these, congrats and enjoy often in great health, friends!

They look great.

I don't understand how they differ from the DC boots, though.
