Versus some of the other plain toe options out there (9901; Brooks Brothers black PTB; black cordovan two-eyelet chukka)?

I like the fact this one has a flat welt

I haven't been bitten by the black shell bug yet, but when I do I think this would be the first purchase!  The 6-eyelet chukkah is an amazing choice.  I love the additional eyelets - feels more "solid" around the ankle.  The 2-eyelet is more convenient to get on and off, but it will never look as good (IMO) as a 6-eyelet.

The flat welt looks slick on this black boot.

I just added another shell to my collection.  Not much of a boot guy, but I love my new ravello wingtip boot so much, I quickly snagged a BNIB color 8 version when I stumbled across it on the Bay the other day (sweet deal at $520).  Can't find any issues with it; they are first quality from TSM.  I snapped a quick pic indoors, but this pic doesn't do this boot any justice.  Natural light outdoors is usually my preferred setting, but wanted to get this out tonight.

I'm with you 100% on this purchase!  The Ravello WT boot was an expensive purchase in that it has forced me to look for more!  I'm contemplating Color 8 and Snuff Suede!  These Color 8's look great RTP!  Enjoy them!

Ugh, these are my grail shoe.  They look great, bud!  Maybe we'll see you Sunday if you are in the area!

I should have pulled the trigger.  Hope you're enjoying them!  I just realized you said you're in PA - same as bkotsko above... if you're in the King of Prussia area on Sunday, we're meeting at Fox and Hound at 6PM!

Haha, I have a feeling that's true.  I think the reason that I haven't been bitten by it yet is due to the lack of black shell with antique edge.  There are some amazing looking Viberg's that were posted a few weeks back when this topic came up in here.  If someone makes a natural color welt/edge trim, that's where the trouble will really begin!

Much thanks friend.  A snuff suede version would be great.  While we're at it, a cigar wingtip boot with antique edge/welt would be pretty cool as well.  :D
