Great boots; wear often and in great health!

Thanks RTP! I too am not a fashion guru and I'm sure there are some out there that frown upon wearing these with a suit, but in my primarily business casual setting, its still better than what most are wearing.

Versus some of the other plain toe options out there (9901; Brooks Brothers black PTB; black cordovan two-eyelet chukka)?

I like the fact this one has a flat welt

I have a pair and I found them to fit me much better than the traditional 2-eyelet version which, no matter what size I went with, always felt like it was going to fall off. Mine are currently for sale but mainly because I've just decided I don't really care for chukkas in general (except the much more casual ones).

I don't know, but if you only want a re-sole, you might be better off with B. Nelson. Lots of good reviews for those folks.

Remember though, that if B Nelson or any other cobbler works on your shoes (changes them), Alden will not recraft in the future.

Was wondering if this applies to Aldens which have only had the heels replaced.

Thanks...did not realize that...It is actually for a new pair I received with some damage to welt stitching and welt separating from sole in a few places..the retailer offered me a discount as they could not replace the boot. Not sure if Alden will repair for a fee less than the $169 but I emailed to ask.

Those will be a nice addition, buddy.

On a somewhat related note, do you guys know which J crews have some Indy boots to physically try-on?  This could be anywhere in the country. Thanks.

Around 2 months ago, the J Crew at the Time Warner Center in NYC had some Indy boots.  I tried on a pair, but ultimately bought the PCTs
