I have the RRL officer chinos and I generally don't care if would get to keep the factory style stitching or not but for some reason on these I did. I took mine to a local high-end denim shop and they had no problem recreating the hem. In the end, I am probably the only person I ever encounter who would actually notice the stitching so if I got a new pair, I'd probably just take them to my normal tailor.

I always find it interesting that the alden thread is under sw&d of the forum. The mark ups and shoes are mostly cm IMO. I personally tread the waters and wear both cm and sw&d for shoes/boots. For past while I've been wearing sw&d but I love Alden's. When they don't have quality control issues the cost for what you get is super fair.

First time trying to post a crappy cell phone pic directly from phone, hope it works.

I wanted to share my office carpet since others have been sharing over the past year since following the thread. Here's my 379x tankers. 3rd wearing. No treatment or brushing just wearing. Also exposing to indirect sunlight trying to bring out some of the brown. Haven't noticed any changed yet. 2 weeks into the process

I love - LOVE - my Alden/JCrew captoe shell boots. They are perfect in just about any setting, and fit me wonderfully (a very rare occurrence).

I just added another shell to my collection.  Not much of a boot guy, but I love my new ravello wingtip boot so much, I quickly snagged a BNIB color 8 version when I stumbled across it on the Bay the other day (sweet deal at $520).  Can't find any issues with it; they are first quality from TSM.  I snapped a quick pic indoors, but this pic doesn't do this boot any justice.  Natural light outdoors is usually my preferred setting, but wanted to get this out tonight. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

nephew, wear your good looking wt boot in only good health! very good hunting

Those are sweet boots! I've been putting my PTBs in the evening sunshine here in FL and I'm hoping they'll change a bit. The sun down here is pretty intense so I should see some change. My Filson Natural Bridle leather belt changed a few shades in just a few days.

P.S. As far as office carpet goes you might have some of the nicest. Mine is too busy. Its like casino carpet!

Thanks Tampa! i am really enjoying them I may stick the boots outside on the next sunny day...sun isnt to intense right now in VA. I have a bridle belt on my wish list this xmas, interesting the bridle changes that quickly.

Yeah, this carpet isnt too bad, i need to go to another building and get bright green or ruby red.

Tifosi, yep that some nice carpet, i could see a jacket made with those colors/pattern not looking too bad. Beautiful boots, almost didnt notice them with that carpet wink.gif ...........really great color on them boots!
