you should, they are awesome. I'll check tag sizes and measurements tonight and shoot you a PM. Cant remember off the top of my head what size I take in these but I think 32 in Somet and 35 in RC

Uncle, as we all know, your collection is impeccable but I must say, to my eye, this pair is my of my faves. Enjoy in good health.

Haven't heard anything yet from Leffot. When I was in store, they had no news, and I don't think they exactly get updates. Kathy got her run in about 4 weeks before Leffot did. Not that that is a perfect reference.

My Frans Boots were about $800 to the door with trees included. Not too bad.

I got the black shell plaza Indy from FB. About the same overall cost of Mdubs. Given the model's uniqueness,, I believe it was worth it.

True. The lack of a shell SWB as a stock model in 8 and black is curious. I have to believe they would sell better than, say, the stock single monk in 8 and black.

Nice, ryden (I have those on the Plaza).  I do want to get some Somets at some point.

That carpet is making me dizzy.

I know this is totally out of the blue, but does anyone know if foreign retailers make less money if the exchange rate is in our favor? Don't know how currencies/exchange rates work.

Assuming the retailer pays Alden the same amount for the shoes in US dollars, a weak currency would indeed be disadvantageous in that more of the foreign currency (relatively weak vs. the US dollar) would need to be paid to stock the inventory (whereas a weakening dollar vs. the foreign currency would obviously have the opposite effect).  If you are asking if foreign retailers "make less money" than a US retailer, you'd need more information because, in part, the foreign retailers tend to charge more for Aldens.  You would want to know whether the increased price they sell at partially or wholly compensates for the impact the weak currency has on their bottom line -- or perhaps they make more even with the weak currency by virtue of the higher sale price.  There are other factors one would want to know in that case -- like whether the foreign retailers also pay import fees, other taxes, etc.

I have a pair of the plaza indy boots from Frans Boone and it was totally worth it to me. Though the TruBalance last is comfortable and fits me well enough, I don't care for the shape at all. I like the plaza because it looks considerably more refined which allows me to wear them to the office.

What's the consensus on Alden's plantation crepe sole and wet weather?? I just picked up this interesting Indy boot makeup on EBAY - tobacco calf + crepe sole - but we're finally getting some heavy rain here in Northern California, and I was wondering if the crepe holds up ok in wet weather, noting that we don't have the salt issue on the roads like back east. I'd love to wear these out today! I did rub some Obenauf's in the welt and the front leather part of the sole. Thanks in advance.
