My city (stl) is burning today. Hope to avoid the looters and bullets in these cigar indys. Thanks to a great fellow sf member for helping me get my first pair of rare shell. smile.gif

Very nice looking. Good acquisition. Light for cigar these days.

the double leather soles still look good to me. are you looking to switch the sole to a different design such as a commando sole for the winter?

Unfortunately Alden will get them back to how they came from the factory. Nothing more, nothing less. Anything thing else, would be uncivilized!

From the pics, at least, they really don't seem in need of a recraft.

@tifosi Maybe I'll just ride them hard through the holidays and send them in after that. I respect your guys' opinion and why blow $169 if you don't have to, right. Looks like I'll need to order another bag from Alden.

Does anyone know if you can get replacement rubber heels from Alden?

Tampa, of course they are your shoes and you can do what you wish with them. What is making you think of sending them in?

These are my original Aldens and are starting to form a nice patina if you were to ask me. Look pretty clean still. :-)

Sweet looking tassels. Stay classy San Diego.

I like Alden's recrafting program. I don't like how dark color 8 comes back from the process. I will ask them not to make them dark next time I use them.

The ball of the foot is getting kind weak on the sole. There's also some small cracking at the top of the shoe where the shoe bends. I figured Alden could fix that better than the cobbler in my building at work.

Thanks for the compliment! This is my first pair of AGrain shoes, so far I'm very impressed with the material and appearance of the shoe. Epaulet taunton boot is next on my list.

I would definitely treat them with Leather Defender if possible.....I have a pair of alpine grain loafers that have water marks from wear in wet conditions.....I was disappoined as I thought the make up was made for that type of weather
