I like Gentlemans better or other single barrel type variant for sipping more than black label. There's a reason why Jack Daniels is the best selling whiskey in the world thou, people like what they like. I certainly would not turn down black label or bash the brand.
Enjoy Elijah as well. Never tried Woodford, I'll add it to the list of things I want to try.

Thank you kindly gentlemen!

I have to say that I have never been much of a boot-person, but after a day with these on my feet, I need color 8, and whatever other shell color I can find in this boot.  WOW, are they comfortable and easy on my ailing joints! The ankle support and double leather soles make me feel like I'm riding a Cadillac all day long.  Really impressed...

I may put some spikes on a pair of barrie lasted wingtip boots!  Great for the winter golf!

Make the trip to the desert young friend...

On my color 8 dovers, the shell becomes rough/dry on the vamp after minimal usage. This is not the case in my other shells though. Even after hydrating the shell with neutral cordo cream, the flex gradually becomes dry after taking it for a day of minimal usage.

The rough spot looks a little spotty as well, sort of like water stains.

"Young" friend? As my father would say about me and my girlfriend, "...your old enough to be her daddy". And please don't ruin a pair wingtips shell boots for anything as silly as golf. Anybody know if the weathers nice in Palm Springs after Christmas?

Two of my pairs are similar in getting rough spots even after conditioning.  Apparently this is somewhat common and can't really be "fixed" at all.  So far none of my pairs have exhibited any problems as a result of the dry spots.

Digging the tie, selvedge and FB #8 Boots, Mike! Enjoy NYC. Was just up there last weekend and didn't get a chance to stop at Madison. If you do, you'll have to let us know if you bring home any new additions!

I called Leffot last week and was told the same thing. Hopefully they come in by Thanksgiving? I wish I got it on the DC one instead because I want to try out commando sole. It's true that the butyl sole looks sleeker, but I get to go stomping around in puddles with the commando sole! Didn't the leffot order go in before the DC order?!

Nothing but carpet this week.  Very comfortable and the fit is perfect... couldn't be more pleased.  I am wondering though, if the commando soles would have been a better option.  Oh well...  I do love the double leather soles for the comfort and stability.

nephew, wear only in good health! double sole is best for this boot
