Henry, the natural welt and edge is nice, but it does provide a more casual appearance. It should not be impossible to darken if that is your style preference.

i like the contrast.
You can darken it w product or wait for it to darken with wear.

It would be very simple to add some AE chili edge dressing or simply some brown cream polish, followed by clear edge dressing. If you like the boot and the edge is too light, it's an easy fix.

Ugghhhh...I dislike you and all that own this boot...sort of kidding....I wish someone other than Leathersoul would do this makeup...LS if they do it will not make a size 12 as they only did the original run to size 11 they informed me...not sure why that would be but perhaps I need to bother them again...

Sorry for the seconds question- these are 403's with a few holes going through the cxl to the heel cup. are they likely to open up with wear? i'm thinking probably not, but thought i might ask for someone else's opinion.
