When I get out to Jackson and spot those ravellos, I'll introduce myself --  I'm sure you're the only one in town wearing them!

Two questions:  Snow yet?  How's the new VC?

Ha. Yeah i cant imagine there are any others with ravello in the valley. Except for maybe Indy himself. Harrison Ford lives out here a good part of the year. Although i doubt he is rockin' any ravello. He seems like more of a 403 or snuff suede/kudu indy kind of guy.

1) No real snow yet. We have had a good dusting or two at elevations above 9000ft., but nothing has stuck around down here. We dont open til Thanksgiving so we should be rockin' by then. We had so much moisture this summer and into the fall that i am very confident we will see some good numbers once the temps get cold enough to convert this rain.

B) The new VC, is different. Its slowly getting to resemble what it once was, but i doubt it will ever be the old one again. Food is still good. Most of the same folks hang there now that they have accepted the change, but still a little to "clean and polished" looking, in my opinion. After all it took over a spot that was once a sushi bar. I think, with time, it will get close to its former "glory".

My Epaulet Innsbrook LWBs have become a staple in my weekly wardrobe...

(BB socks)

Some wrinkling has ensued, but not enough for me to be upset.

I'm not too worried about it since I don't intend to baby them, but still weird.
Seems like only some alden shell reacts to water. I've had similar water spots that fade away (massive brushing), and some that have become permanent. Fortunately, the bumps are only visible up-close. I don't see them when I'm wearing the shoes.

Alden defender works, got my bottle at leather soul.

Same here. My black LWBs react poorly to water, my #8 LWBs have been great, and the jury is still out on the whiskey and ravello.

I gotten a few water spots. I try to brush them out after drying but in reality I don't care. It's all character.

Some of my shells sport water drops for months until I apply some Reno and brush like crazy.  I'm not all that concerned about it since it's only noticeable to me.  I just hadn't experienced a full-on water line from a light rain shower before.  Thankfully, the line is barely visible now and I'm sure it'll completely fade with some brushing.  I guess you never really know what kind of reaction you'll get from your shell until it actually happens.  I think I'll be saving my Day Trippers for sunny days only when I finally get them...just to be safe...

I have the water line on a pair of whiskey NST's and it is noticeable. I too hope it will go away over time. Next time I will be sure to use Alden defender prior to going out in the rain. I'll snap a picture next time i get a chance.
