Guys who drop $10K+ a year on shoes and/or go to trunk shows and order, etc. there's nothing wrong with it. Their consistent base should have that access. Not justifying AOM here, just saying it's not abnormal.

Of course - and I'm totally alright with giving perks to those heavy hitting customers.  For example, I would never complain about Mac being offered a shoe/boot over others.  This whole scenario with AOM doesn't seem like that type of situation though.  I think I've beaten this dead horse enough.  I just don't care for that kind of customer service.

For what it's worth, I simply called AoM to be put on their list several months ago. They did, and I've received rare she'll information since. No hassle, nothing.

Man, this Indy has really grown on me. You know what they say about those stock models...

Don't know how much longer I can hold out.

Doesn't help that I picked these up from the 'Crew after deliberating for a many weeks (Thanks @gosheik )

Which laces do you guys like better?

I managed a spot on the Whiskey WT boot after e-mailing an hour after the message went out. Apparently I was the last to secure a boot. Must be a tiny run.
I passed as the commando was a deal breaker. Seem odd on such a light boot. Would have ordered instantly had they been double leather soles

Contrast for sure. Nice pickup Saz.

I think a Ravello CT with commando would be fine. What do others think? I think there are a couple makeups like this in the pike.

Late night at the office, but I got my #8 indys to keep me company.

@saz, I like the lighter laces. Better flow and blends with the rest of the makeup

@sazon, I'll walk the line and say I like both.  I first thought the contrast but then thought the tan laces look pretty good, too.  Switch 'em out every so often!

Where do you draw the line? It's okay that Mac gets first dibs because he has bought hundreds of shoes over the years, what about the guy who has bought 15 pairs in the last year? What about the guy who has bought 2?

Is there an arbitrary line that one must cross in order to be "in the know"? Or should they do what Leffot does and throw up a pic of a Cigar Indy and Ravello Daytripper on instagram and call it a day?

I really have no dog in the fight, I just don't think there is a way of doing this without making some people mad.

The ravello wt boot offered by Alden NYC during its last run is on commando, which I think is a good thing.

C'mon man. You knew that I was joking, right? You weren't even the first to spill it.

Sorry. We're still cool, right?

You guys are just too hilarious!
