Alden no longer does MTO. There are lists for existing make ups. I am not sure what is confirmed as of this time, but Alden DC is your best bet.

What do people typically wear in Aberdeen (who found that it works for them) compared to other lasts?

For me, Barrie = 9.5D, Aberdeen = 10E.

I got to see them in person also and thought they were ok. Agree not worth $250. Though I still am not a fan of the Indy, that black one posted earlier was outstanding.

Have you owned an Indy? I ask because until I got my first pair I was not a fan either. I now have them in dark brown chromexcel, cigar shell, and #8 shell on the plaza last. They are such great boots and so incredibly versatile. Despite all the fancy shell Aldens I have, my chromexcel Indys are easily the shoes I receive the most compliments about. Not to mention they are insanely durable. I used them as work boots in a naval shipyard for 4-years and they still look awesome. If you've given them a try and they're just not your thing, I respect that. However if you haven't already, give them a shot!

On that note you think we could ever get Alden to do a run of steel toe, commando sole chromexcel indys?

@AML225 I have not owned a pair yet and the shell versions appeal most to me...it is that stitch line on the vamp that is not symmetrical to the sole which bugs me.

Others have said it also that they will grow on me and they are starting to slowly. Which saday for my wallet probably means I will cave soon.

+1. I recently picked up a pair of Indys in brown CXL, and I think they look great with almost everything. Some light picks up the dark brown in the leather, and some picks up the reddish hues.

I didn't like them at first either. They grow on you.

Thanks. I wear mostly denim/chinos and occasionally dressier pants, never full suits. I'll have to just go see both in person to see which would be a better fit for me look wise.

Always enjoy everyone's pics. First time posting one of my own. 403's with new laces.

Welcome to the Forum!

If it's on the plaza last, please don't call it an "Indy". If Beebs can police rogue chorizo, I am gonna take jurisdiction over this. Thank you.

one big difference: the j crew PCT boot has a 270 degree welt and the tanker has a 360 welt afaik... so the PCT looks smaller, and somewhat dressier

This! Hand-stitched moc-toe boot on plaza?

This is exactly what I was looking for. I'm a 9.5D on the Barrie but it's a little wide. I could potentially be a 9.5C. I was hoping a 10D would be okay, but sounds like it could be tight.

Are there any stock models on Aberdeen that I can try on at an Alden retailer like Sherman Bros in Philly?

I do actually wear mine with suits.....in the winter.  Mine are outfitted with Topy's on heel and forefront.

If your gonna wear them with suits my personal rule is to polish them to a high shine.

Thanks!

Cap Toe Blucher is Aberdeen.

Yes, the Plaza "Indy" rocks.
