That's a mighty tiny pic, MrDV. No need to even spoiler.

They are new but I have already gotten a bunch of wear out of them and they don't look like they will wrinkle/crease that much. You are correct about the lined LWBs. They don't wrinkle nearly as much. My unlined dovers in brown chrmxl are ok. If I had it to do over again I probably wouldn't have gotten them. The lined LWB fills the same need better and without looking like an old baseball glove, but I suppose that old distressed look fills a role for many who like that look. I'm with you in that regard. I do like a cleaner look even with a casual shoe. I don't believe the lined LWB will be that wrinkly.

Speaking of selling Aldens... what's the process for getting out of a pre-order that I've paid in full for?

I was fortunate to get on the Ravello SW boot order on commando soles through Alden NYC. I paid in full back when that was open (I think late spring). But I think I'm interested in another model more (and maybe try out a Viberg boot through the SF GMTO) so I'd like to get out of the order and get my money back.

Should I just wait for them to arrive and sell to a 3rd party here? Can I find a 3rd party who can replace me and get refunded? I think I've read that you can only get store credit if you return them... is that true?

Might be alone on this opinion, but I love Indy's with this kinda wear. I'm far from it with my own pair so far, but IMO, the scuffs, wear and tear make this boot great.

Based on your signature, I assume you're not, but figure I'd ask, you haven't ordered a 10D, by any chance, have you? I'd take those off your hands. I got in on the Ravello lwb from this order back in June. It's been 4 months so hopefully we hear about it soon. They wouldnt allow a second pair, but the boot would've been my choice.

Nope, 12D. (Was hesitant to mention it because I don't want to be caught trying to sell in this thread... Really just wondering about the process of undoing a pre-order where I've already paid).

Just call up the NYC store and see what they say. I've backed out of a few pre-orders from various retailers that were either a partial or full payment made up front and every single retailer was more than accommodating, regardless of what their official pre-order payment policy is. Every retailer I've dealt with understands that this is an expensive purchase and the Alden factory is getting slower and slower at confirming and fulfilling orders and that customers are willing to go elsewhere these days. That being said, most of the retailers probably also have a list of people behind you willing to step in and take your order should you back out.

There is a fee involved, I cannot remember the specifics but I asked in Spring. I know you cannot get refunded in full thou.
