If it was a customs fee, you shouldn't have to pay it. Should be no charge for U.S. made items going into the U.S.

...Any way to contest it? The UPS guy essentially had to watch me write a check before the he handed over the package.

I'm fairly certain that a customs fee would be much higher than $72. Sounds more like a handling fee from the originating shipper. I got a handling charge when I had a package shipped via T.N.T from England that came via UPS in the U.S.

I've had that happen before too.

I'd try calling their customer service, it should have been declared on the customs form that they were U.S. made goods.

Yeah quite awkward, he originally had me write it out to Frans Boone, then circled back and rung my doorbell and asked me to rewrite the check out to UPS...

Ok, well in that case I guess it is what it is with international packages.

Some, but not all. If the package comes into the US via USPS, there are usually no fees involved.

Yeah, I usually don't have problems with things from say eBay where the seller usually ships via USPS.

At least he didn't have you write it out to "cash".

Usually they put product of the U.S. which exempts you from import duties. I hate dealing with UPS and international...

@marvaments Enjoy those new boots. They are beautiful.
