I saw some Saphir leather insoles available from "The Hanger Project" that looked pretty nice. I'm thinking about getting a pair for my golf shoes.

The ones they sell look like rebranded Tacco Leather Insoles (also called Luxus or 613). You can get them for half the price from elsewhere online.

I use these all the time to get a perfect fit in some shoes. I'd say that they add about 1/4 size.

Has anyone received BB cordovan shoes through the 30% corporate sale?

I placed an order, but for some reason they keep saying my card is failing to authorize.

I have called them like 7 times this week, and can't help but wonder if its because they don't want to let the unlined LHS go for $448.  None of the customer service reps have given me any reason to believe that this is the case, but my bank said that they have no record of BB even trying to initiate a transaction, while BB says they have tried it on like 5 different occasions.

They ended up canceling my order, after the customer service rep said that wouldn't happen.  As a consequence I lost the 9D.  I made them resubmit a new order identical to the first and manually adjust the price.  I had to go with 9.5D this time, and will hope that a local store has a 9D in stock to exchange.  If not I'll just have to send them back.  They said the 9D is backordered indefinitely.  When I ordered them initially, they had a backorder ship date of 4/8.

Even weirder is that the order status on my BB account says that the first order has been shipped.  Neither of the cards that I gave them has been charged yet.

there are a lot of special makeups I currently want, the problem is they're all on Crepe-- which I'm not too into. Anybody have a picture of them wearing crepe that can convince me I'm wrong? Looking for a side view (as opposed to an overheard view).

I don't think I'm in love with the crepe. It looks nice with the snuff suede, but I wouldn't get it on a cordovan shoe. When these wear out, I think might try having B. Nelson put a double leather sole on them.

i just called directly and the sales rep applied the 30% discount to a pair of #8 straight tip bluchers without batting an eye...got an order confirmation within 30 min, card billed, shipping confirmation in 2-3 business days.

was gonna get the lhs in 9d--had it in my cart the night before--but when i got around to checking out after work on the day the sale started, it was out of stock! hoping you get yours.

i will splurge for the faster shipping next time.



on a related note, any success with ordering j.crew alden shell with their ongoing 25% discount? none on this end...

i actually really like the crepe sole, but only on an indy boot, which is already bulkier in profile. it makes for a very comfortable ride.

Well... I'm on that Alden grind this week - so in addition to the snuff suede (J.Crew) LWB's I picked up the 9751's - LWB in Black Shell...

Now my preorder with Leffot needs to be the Kudu LWB...

Any idea how the sizing of the RL Marlow would be? I don't know how the color would compare to Cigar or other exotic shells...

It is astounding how many people buy really nice shoes and wear cheap cotton socks. They also don't account for how much their feet expand during the day. Merino wool or cashmere/silk over-the-calf socks aren't a large expense after one pays over $700 for some Alden shell cordovan shoes.

For me if I buy too many expensive socks I can't afford to buy the expensive shoes...

I know what you mean. I posted these recently to compare single waterloc flex welt to crepe on the chukka. I have to say its growing on me.
