I got a replacement pair from J. Crew of my indy boots and there are patches of loose grain creasing. Aesthetically not really pleasing, but I kind of like the beat up look of Indys. My only concern would be any structural issues due to it. Anyone have any experience on the long term durability on a pair with loose grain creasing?

Trick question for this forum.  Name the most expensive Alden model you've ever seen in your life.  I've seen one in New York City today.

The #2 LWB has the highest US retail price. I.e $ 825. If you were talking about eboy auctions, i have seen something that's gone to US 3k, but who knows.....

Most expensive I have ever seen resold for is the Color #4 WT Boots that sold for roughly $3k. The most expensive I have seen directly from a retailer was the Color #2 LWBs which were $825 I believe. Alden controls their pricing very strictly, so you typically won't see large sales or price hikes from vendors.

I believe rare shell boots are in the 760 range iirc.

Sounds about correct. I would have to check some of my recent receipts to verify.

$752 for recent shoes and $756 for recent boots. Don't know why there is a $4 price hike for boots. Actually it's kind of funny.

I believe Mike is correct AFAIK, though some of the Alden "elders" may know better.

Obviously the boots have an extra $4 worth of shell for the shafts. tongue.gif
