Yes, I use CBI, right down the street from the Rainbow Bridge. I ALWAYS declare what I have. Sometimes I get lucky and the officer tells me to "have a nice day" other times, I pay. It just isn't worth the hassle if you false declare and get caught. (Nevermind being black listed!)

I ended up paying about $105 in taxes. Cost of shoe converted to CAD and then the hst on that.

So yes, these are $1000 LWB's!

Thanks for the info. I have done this a couple of times, and always declared as well. However, the cost of my items has been a lot lower. The cost of shoes is definitely higher for Canadians. I hear that Leatherfoot might soon be carrying Aldens - could be interesting.

I use CBI as well. Never got searched but when I tell the border agents the cost of Aldens the look in their eyes is priceless lol

Those look terrific. I am excited to have my replacement Cigar LWBs come in as I migrate from 10D to 10.5B. That is a very nice looking family.

Steve, I use a combination of AE Walnut Shoe Polish and AE Brown Shoe Polish. This allows you to match the color pretty precisely and fill in crevices. Someone posted a tutorial here a year or two back and so I copied their method. Will look for the post number later.

Hey mdubs, I'm wondering how you narrowed down your best fit/size in Alden lasts.  I'm learning that I'm a C or D in the ball, but my heel is too narrow to fit C or D in non-boot shoes.  With narrow sizing being mostly limited to pre-orders, did you have to trial and error your way through multiple shoes before you found a good fit?

I went to Alden San Fran and did the Blind Taste Test on the Barrie Last and Aberdeen Last. I tried on a wide variety of lengths and widths within my size range. I tried to not know the size I was trying on as to go by feel alone.

Those are awesome - I'm lusting over these cigar and whiskey shells - where did you score these from?

I bought the shoes on ebey and they have defect in dyeing (cap toe on left shoe is lighter than the right and have stains). How I can correct this?
