These look unbelievably good. Question - are the c width?

Edit: Guess probably not - would not have arrived yet. Look sleeker than expected in those shots.

For those of you that have the Unionmade CXL NST boot, is the single waterlock sole different than the flex sole in the unlined PTBs and chukkas?

I always thought the single waterlock and the flex was one in the same. Interested in the answer as well.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that they are both single leather soles, and it's just a matter of whether one is infused with oil or not.

Is it odd to have a flex sole on a full boot? Seems like you would like something a little more sturdy. Looks great though.

Great score on the whiskey LWB's from TSM. They actually have my size and so far I have shockingly been able to resist. I sold mine about a year ago and have had the occasional regret. If not for being on a couple of ravello boot pre-orders that should be coming in soon, I doubt that I would have resisted. Not about me though, congrats on the OP's good fortune.

Another question for those with experience with Alden's recrafting. I just picked up a pair of shell's from EBAY that are pretty beat up. My plan is to use these as my winter beaters but that plan includes having Alden recraft and hopefully clean up the interiors of the shoe. I've never sent anything this beat up (the interior numbers aren't even visible) so I was wondering if anyone has sent something in like this and had Alden return them as unworkable.

Here's a link to the shoes.......

I really like exposed eyelets for a casual shoe and the commando soles made this a no-brained for me. They are listed as Brown, which typically means Cigar, but I doubt that I will be that lucky. My guess is they are color 8. Either way, if Alden will recraft, I will be ecstatic, if not, merely happy.

Nothing odd about it, in my opinion. They're extremely comfortable and feel very sturdy. Frankly, the only thing it feels like you're giving up is some extra weight and stiffness.

Hey there gents, I have a cleaning question. Pictured above are my WinnPerry tan calf boots that I recently purchased. I wore them last night and was briefly caught in a downpour if rain. I went inside and wiped them off, wearing them for a few more hours before taking them off for the night. I was out of town so I initially put their trees in them, put them in my tote bag and removed them back to my shoe shelves a few hours later.

This morning you can see the discoloration spot on the one in the picture. I tried buffing it with a cloth but that didn't work so I applied some Venetian balm and buffed with a brush but that spot is still there. Am I doomed? Is there anything else to be done? Thanks for any and all replies!

I bought whiskey lwb about 2 months ago. I had been rationalizing and resisting them for a while, I'm very happy w my pair. They're quickly becoming one of my favorites.

I've had alden refinish really beat up ebay shell shoes in the past. They will replace the heel pad and buff down the leather lining tears, but they will not replace the lining. They will clean up the inside mess, but not make it pristine. that being said, it's totally worth the money and wait, the re-lasting, new soles, and leather resurrection is impressive. I believe your pair is #8. If I ever send #8 to recrafting again, I will ask for them not to re color them too dark. My last #8 pair returned almost black. Your pair seems to be labeled alden but reminds me of the brooks brothers version.

Looks like some polish has been removed. This happened to me on a pair of new shoes. I wore them for the first time and ended up splashing them with water. When I wiped them, a good amount of polish came off. I hit the whole shoe (both of them) with some neutral shoe cream and it did re-distribute some polish and even them out. Then 2 coats of wax. I don't wear a new pair of calf shoes without a coat of wax on them anymore.

If you only tried spot cleaning that, then you may not get anywhere. Try treating the whole boot and see if it will even out. Make sure whatever you do to one you do to the other boot.
