Love these too big and small.

Can anyone report on the fit of the "379x" last, esp with regard to width?

Those modified last PCT's are great. I love the way my PCT brown suede boots from moulded fit and look. Boots that last looks great. It's shoes that it looks a little too orthopedic.

iOS 8.0.2 seems to have fixed the Safari upload bug.

Does anyone here size down 1 full size from their brannock measurement for Barrie last?

I know it recommends going .5 size down and I have done that but just tried on a full size down and it didn't fit too tight?

I do on shoes.  No experience with brannock on boots.

Hi
yet another stupid sizing question from newbie - sorry if it was already answered or can't be answered at all smile.gif

I have 2 pairs of Alden so far -
- shell LWB in 6D which initially was a bit tight overall, but after 20-30 wears feels comfortable with thin socks
- Brand new 403 Indy in 6E, which feels a bit roomy in the toebox even with think socks

I have a couple more pairs on order from Leffot (cigar shell indy and black grain LWB) - both in 6E, and now concerned that they might be too roomy after several years... If so, I will probably be selling them off

Indy boots generally feel roomy in the toe box due to the Truebalance last. I think your black grain LWB will be fine in 6E. For the Indy boot, it will depend on how you want the fit to me.

Doing some fall inventory...

Pick three to sell out of this selection:

990
Whiskey PTB
Black cordovan unlined PTB
Cigar captoe balmoral
Cigar LWB
Cigar Chukka
Leffot color 8 / alpine grain saddle
Brown suede LWB on commando

Rule: at least one of them has to be a rare cordovan model

I would unload the underlined.

Still wish the commando sole covered the whole bottom though,

That's my one complaint about the Alpine Grain - it seems to show water spots instantly and worse than anything else I own. Thankfully, they dry off and clean up perfectly, but it still makes me a bit sad when I look down at them on rainy days.

I'm thinking of buying a used pair and having my local cobbler resole it for me. Thoughts?
I would like to do a natural or tan leather with the tan vibrum soles.

If you guys have any 8.5 plain or round toe Alden's you want to part with please hit me up!

I doubt the Leather Soul boots will ever be made again; the Leffot chukka pre-order is sold out. This style seems to pop up every other year or so.

Alchibiades beat me to it with the Leathersoul suggestion - the wedge sole is the closest to a ripple sole I've seen on an Alden. I have the Natural CXL version and they are super comfortable. Good luck on your search (I know StyleForum member New York RangerIslander had a pair too and I believe he was around an 8.5 so maybe he can be persuaded to part with his...)

If your life depended on it what would you choose...

#8 NST boot on commando or Leffot #8 LWB?

I have both and get more use out of my NST boots. Of course I also have a wide selection of LWBs other than the #8 to choose from but I think even if I didn't, I'd still get more use out of the NST boot. I know the Indy is iconic and what Alden is known for but I love the NST, it's much more versatile IMO.
