C&J for RL Marlow Wingtips and BB argyles

A wonderful shoe. IMO, the finest shell SWB on the market. nod[1].gif

Thanks SFTG!  Not 100% certain I agree, but it's likely I do.  If my Alden SW bluchers were on a JR double leather sole, I might say otherwise.  Very happy to have both.:D

I too wear a Barrie 9.5E and it is tight but broke in nicely.  I thought I bought the Marlow from ebay in a 10D and was afraid that it would not fit properly, only to open the box and find the seller sent me a 10.5D on accident...I was inconsolable....until I tried it on and found that it fit PERFECT....

I am a 10EE on the right and a 10E on the left and the 10.5D Marlow fit nicely out of box.  I added a very thin leather insole just to be safe and it was even better.

IMO the finish on the marlows is too "dry".
Fit and style good. Price point could be better.
I returned mine.

I can't really tell for sure what the last is - it definitely looks like barrie but i don't have an accurate point of reference (limited experience with aldens) which is part of the reason why i'm asking where they're from.  i'd love to sell these and buy in a difference size.

I don't think an E width exists. I wear 10D in the Marlow, which has broken in nicely. I had the toe pinch early on, but it has mitigated over the long break-in period.

I attempted to wear 10D in the Marlow Penny Loafer, but it didn't work. I have owned a 10.5D in the tassels, but at that point I'd rather just buy Alden tassel loafers in 10E.

The Leather Soul Ravello SWB is the one SWB on the market that could really rival the Marlow, IMO - the only issue is that Marlow is on a more versatile last.

A little product to moisturize and condition + a sale rendering the Marlows down to $400 = Great Deal :nodding:

Indeed, the ravello short wingtip blucher is my unicorn...  I'm not holding my breath waiting for it to come back.

Hey guys!

I'm trying to find a pair of Alden round toe boot that has a vibrum ripple sole on it. Has anyone ever seen one in production?
I'm thinking of buying a used pair and having my local cobbler resole it for me. Thoughts?
I would like to do a natural or tan leather with the tan vibrum soles.

If you guys have any 8.5 plain or round toe Alden's you want to part with please hit me up!

I found a 9.5E in the C&J for RL PTB. The fit is great although the shoe is definitely shorter and narrower than my alden 990 in 9.5E. I believe I saw a 9.5E marlow on ebay not too long ago.

Something like this, but in a boot?

EDIT: welcome to the forum!

Where did you find those pics?

Alden retailers rarely order shoes with white/tan Vibram soles. These are the closest I've seen:

http://leathersoulhawaii.com/2012/02/18/alden-shoes-lsxse-lsw-lsbh/

http://leffot.com/shop/index.php/pre-orders/natural-cxl-chukka.html

I doubt the Leather Soul boots will ever be made again; the Leffot chukka pre-order is sold out. This style seems to pop up every other year or so.
