Yes, this is true. He wears them outside. But Uncle Mac levitates and floats around. His shoes touch the ground, at most, 15% of the time.
He wears them outside, but when he has to cross a stretch of concrete, he crawls on his hands and knees to prevent wearing down the toes.

Maybe if Alden charged even more for their shoes they might be able to afford a web developer...

I don't think Alden even advertises, doesn't seem to be a need for marketing when they sell virtually every shoe they make and retailers are lining up to carry the brand.

Anyone else take a look at the new leffot tanker boot? Amazing, until I saw the price. I knew it was coming but to see it in print 730$ for shell #8 yikes. I hope my resolve remains firm.

was interested initially, but I agree.. at that price.. I'll manage with the #8 boots I have..

will bite the bullet for a couple more pair in shell and then I'm likely tapping out lol

I have a couple of specialty cordovan make ups I'd like to acquire. I will simply wait for those offerings. It makes more and more sense to acquire the eg galways. Although maybe it's about time I start taking a harder look at calf offerings.

Definitely. It's a point of pride. "Yep. We paid some college kid $87 in 1994 and now Otis just updates the stockists."

I know people say that calf has its place in a collection, but ever since I got my first pair in shell, I haven't been interested in calf whatsoever.
Amen to that my brother. Your speaking to the choir. I was shown a calfskin LHS today and I literally couldn't "see" them on my feet. But, for some reason a pair of #8 975's had me drooling.

That's one of the very few things keeping me away from diving into the shell game too early. Lighter colors are really pulling me in, but I don't want to lost the love for all my calf shoes.
