Wow, fantastic shine watchman. Do you subscribe to the Mac Method?

@kwhitelaw: Awesome Antique #8 collection. So great.

Try a little polish on the spots and brush. They'll fade away after a bit.

Just curious how people have sized between the two lasts. Thanks.

If you're a C, then a D will be too wide. I wear the same size in the TB and Barrie lasts.
Trying to compare boot and shoe lasts is tricky. Buy a pair that are returnable and try them is my free advice.

E.g., I wear 1/2 size smaller in boots than in shoes, except for the Barrie - same size in both. crazy.gif
Good luck.

Yes and No.

I use the Mac Method plus deer bone plus Justin Fitzpatrick's polishing advice.

A "Potpourri" of various methods with the Mac Method as a foundational base....

My color 8's are now on an All-Saphir care regimen and that has made all the difference in the world.

I can't think if a better group to pose this question to, and I don't even know if there is a good answer, but here it goes:

I got into Aldens because of the Alden Indy Boot, and the infamous legend behind it - that Harrison Ford insisted on wearing them during his role as Indiana Jones due to his love for them from his days working as a carpenter. Anyways, is there any good explanation anyone may have as to why we never see pictures of Harrison sporting Alden shoes like... EVER since??? You would think that given the primary 2 factors that 1) Harrison has the frikken means and 2) Aldens are the frikken best that he would be caught wearing them all the time!! But it isn't the case.

Beyond that, you would think that Alden would enjoy having Harrison as their brand ambassador, much like Omega LOVES having Daniel Craig as an official brand ambassador. Anyways, any clarification/thoughts/input is highly appreciated.

This may have been blasphemous, but I went with my 9901 with Filipino formal wear (tuxedo pants and a barong tagalog) last night...

Can you share what Justin Fitzpatrick's method is for shell? I looked and couldn't find anything. Also, can you be more specific about your potpourri? I'd love to know what you did to get that epic shine. The more detail the better, please!

Basically the same for calf, but with WAY LESS PRODUCT....

Shell has a way more dense pore structure that even the finest calf.....

So, much less product to fill it in to achieve a mirror shine.

Anybody knows where i can find the Alden 4060 boot in #8 with shipping to Holland? I don't want to order by FransBoone because I don't like the brass eyelets.

How is the size compared to the EG Galway boot?

I found this one is this legit? http://skyvalet1.traccar.com/product/alden-4060-ch-color-8-cordovan-boot-2/
