Alike others here, we live a fairly simple lifestyle and have cut out a lot of other unnecessary expenses, which has enabled me to get more carried away than anyone should.

I know that people tend to appreciate horses more than they do cows because of their eloquence, but they are, as many others have stated not killed for the purpose of their hides. You may also consider alter a Chick-Fil-A commercial to say "Buy More Cordovan" instead of "Eat More Chikin"... She definitely has an interesting perspective.

You could try and convince Mac, DV, or Sazon to sell you their shoes, since they are all made of Unicorn.

Best of luck my friend.

Mike,

yes she is very astute, every week I hear..."are those new?!?" .

I respond, which is usually accurate, that I sold these ones to upgrade. That settles some of the nerves. Speaking of which viberg has a restock on some color 8 cxl service boots. Do you feel those are overpriced, and just hold out for some shell tankers?

Thanks

Drew

MOOSICPA, those are some very cool and unique shoes with their two toned appearance.

Hanoi, you color 8 Captoes are looking awesome. They have a nice shine and patina. Great work.

Elliot, your Indy's look great.

@inn8chiro you have a new baby it is your wifes job to think you are an idiot. Go buy Dave Ramseys Total Money Makeover book....make a budget with shoe allowance built in and amazing things will happen. Your wife will think you are grown up, mature and responsible.

Of course we will all know otherwise and the cash from sperm donations, blood and skin grafts sold never gets reported.

Whammo a new boot a month!

Vibergs will definitely cost you a few bucks. I personally do not like CXL as much as shell. It gets massive creasing quickly. I would hold off for one of thier special Shell make ups.

Inn8chirro, that's a tough call! Those Shells look pretty clean and the brass is pretty unique for a Color 8 design... Depending upon pricing and other pics of those boots depicting condition, I would prob go for the Alden's. With that said, which pair will fit you better should be a key driver along with how they fit into your wardrobe and tastes.

Without the books and all that craziness. This is essentially what I do. A shoe budget (clothing budget actually). I also now make sure that if I preorder something I set the money aside for it as soon as I know the order is confirmed. It can get a little hectic when 3 things come in, all in the same month.

I have to admit that the budget really worked well for my wife and I. She knows I am very analytical with my spending, keeping a list of things I would eventually like to buy. At the moment most of that list is Aldens and she knows they are expensive but have agreed our personal money can be spent any way we would like without judgment. We both also have money budgeted for work lunches along with personal spending cash, we averaged out our lunch expenses and decided that if we kept under that we could roll over the extra into our personal spending money. So if I chose to eat off the dollar menu sometimes it allows me to stack a bit more spending money haha.

I just picked me up one of the last pairs of the Alden Roy Boots from Context Clothing in brown chamois.

QUESTION: Does anyone have experience with the chamois leather and wearing them in the elements? I'm not one of those guys who is shy about wearing nice things in the rain. I basically just want to know if they would be destroyed by rain/snow/salt.

Thanks
