depends on what EG you're bringing along.  whiskey works well in SoCal, but not really at night.  if your EGs are dark, then ravello. if light, then color 8.  natty CXL belongs in wisconsin.

Hey Alden gang -- been away for a bit.  Cleaned up my boots in anticipation of cooler weather even if it is a couple of months away still.  Couldn't resist snapping a few pictures.  Getting excited for the Day Trippers to round out the collection. Leffot #8 Naval, DC Cigar CT, and AF53

BTW, their website may be the best of any Alden retailer.  I can't read Korean, but their pics and information are great  http://unipair.com/product/alden-97760/

Alden 97760

@unipair guy

I do really like those, but I just checked what that would cost me in USD and its over $750. A little on the high side. I think my best option is probably to wait until next summer and hope Alden releases a similar make-up.

I did a search of the thread and saw that Lawrence Covell carries Aldens. There is also a J. Gilbert store in the Cherry Creek area. Has anyone visited that particular store? Thanks.

Grant

I visited that store a couple years back and no dice. Things may have changed, however. Also, there's an SF thread on great men's shops listed by city. I'd recommend checking that out.

Does anyone have a good picture of a well worn #8 Aberdeen NST Boot they could post? Would greatly appreciate it. Wondering what they would look like after years of wear... Good Sat., to all!

To my eye, that is the ideal shade of color 8 on those Naval boots. The more I see pics of those, the more I want a pair. Looks excellent!

I am very excited to have a pair in production. They should be finishing up relatively soon if my month counters is correct.

I agree with you. The naval boot is a kick ass style in #8. Im trying to be patient and hold out enough to grab a pair on the next go round. *if I can click fast enough*

I traveled quite a bit this summer to LA and the Bay Area with just about your line-up with Natty chrmxl LWBs, minus the EG.

[Edit:  @thebeebs I thought the light color of my natty chrmxl LWBs made for a very nice summery shoe.  My night life consisted of casual to resort casual dinners.  I traveled very lightly so I needed something very versatile.  I suppose "Wisconsin footwear" suited me well enough! :rotflmao:]

For sure, $750 is much too much for suede.

750 is in area if shell pricing.

Agreed. I balked a little when I googled what the price would be in USD. I guess if I needed it right now, which I dont, I could do a MTO through AE. Though with the newly imposed MTO fee that bumps the price well into Alden territory. I think ill just keep it in my mind as a shoe for next summer.

Were you able to request a narrow width on your order? I'm going to be in NYC in 2 weeks so I'll try and drop by Leffot while I'm there. It's been a while since I've been there so I'll have to try and make my way to all the stores that I can only get to while I'm there! Epaulet, Leffot, Alden Madison, maybe Self Edge.

Ill keep that in mind for sure. If you could let me know if you see the model next time you happen to be in there, either the brass eyelet or blind eyelet version I would appreciate it.
