I went to Belgium recently for work, and tried as many of the trappists as I could (while trying to work, obviously).

Unfortunately it is not always on the coworkers' priority lists.

I just picked up these beauties and the first thing that came to mind is that the color is very close to my #4 captoe boots. I'll try to get some pix on eventually, but the antique edge, dbl waterloc sole and starburst heel make these an awesome boot.

If these were on commando they'd already be mine.

Definitely taking a side-trip to Belgium this fall when tagging along to Paris for my wife's work.

It makes me happy seeing Winn Perry stuff get talked about here. Steve is incredibly nice and easy to work with and the Winn Perry store is fun to pop in to when visiting (and checking out Tanner Goods and Self Edge isn't too bad, either).

Gents - here are quick pix of the Winn perry boot and compare vs the Alden color 4 captoe. Color4 is the boot with no speedhooks

Saz, those boots look amazingly close to your #4 CTs. That's pretty amazing. You better be careful to not put on one of each!!! ;-)

Anyone car to explain the big deal of color #4 calf to me? Sorry if it is more of a dumb question than this next one....Am I supposed to be moved to purchase a $545 boot because it has a star shaped thingy on the plastic heel, as described in the listing?

I think the boot is very nice but just trying to understand what makes any more special than any other that looks similar? And I am asking for real not to bust chops, just curious.

May have to jump on these. Reminds me of the Tricker's boots.
