I might consider a Rolex 5512 gilt dial with pointed crown guards for trade. Otherwise the same boot in size 8.5 will do.

If I get hit in the head with something heavy and decide to sell, you get first dibs.

cheers
t
Drat, and here I thought I might be able to trade you this one.

What a disappointment.

How would you guys fill in the below?

#8: NST Tanker Boot
Cigar: ???
Ravello: Cap Toe Day Tripper Boot
Whiskey: LHS

I'm interested in answers that are not PTB, chukka, or LWB.

With whiskey LHS already in that rotation/collection, I'm thinking Cigar medallion cap toe blucher or maybe wingtip boot.

The fit is perfect and they were worth the wait.

Next to Color 8 LHS for BB and Color 8 full strap, which is a full shade lighter than the BB:

I saw some love for shell strands a few pages back. Which would you prefer... Burgundy shell strands or Alden for BB medallion cap toe blucher in color 8? I know one is a balmoral and the other a blucher, but indulge me; I'm curious...

I have the brown shell strands. I sold my alden medallion cap toes when the aes arrived. The shell on the Aldens is superior, but the strands look better.

Both would be nice, but neither is currently offered. Alden's factory medallion captoe blucher in color 8 - the 2145 - is one of Alden's best looking dress shoes IMO.

More focused is better. Having six pairs of indy boots or whatever is impressive but not very practical.

Yes, and no. I now have 6 pair of shell chukka's in different shell colors. They are my pot of gold at the end of the rainbow so to speak. However I will never let chukka's be at or more than 50% of my total shell collection. Boots, that is a different story LOL. I have 10 years to retire and the chukka's are the ones most likely to be worn past retirement, at least in my case and of course provided I make it that far. I have had a love affair with chukka's for a very long time. Most likely will pick up one more at some point, and one for each day of the week is enough even for me.

If I had all lwb or wt boot I'd be pretty happy. Moving away from Aldens now though so maybe not too practical

TSM doesn't do pre-orders, but they are very helpful and will give you an idea of what's coming in and when. Sometimes, the dates that they are given are "Alden Dates" which is a system of counting days, months and years that is very optimistic, seems to be less reliable than the Myan Calendar and, often forgets that months are actually 28-31 days and not 365 days..

They do preorders for sure. And when I have, delivery times have actually been earlier than expected and you get surprised by a package at your door
