How are you liking the Tremont last? They look great. I have the same pair but mine look much lighter. I'm liking your patina. Enjoy them!

Thanks, I do like the tremont. It's easier for me to go a bit dressier with this last and this whiskey shade. I originally wanted a lighter whiskey, but I'm really liking the way this patina looks. This shade is not as dark as my ravellos and still looks amazing in direct sunlight. Enjoy your pair.

agreed on the commando for NE. just ordered the dark brown CXL (not CXE :)) ultimate indy for LS myself.

if you really wanted, you could get the eyelets replaced for brass by B. Nelson. it's expensive and not worth it but people have done stranger things for aesthetic reasons.

resoling a commando sole isn't really a viable option. Alden will now only resole shoes with the original sole they had. further, alden's commando sole is proprietary and stitched on where most others similar are glued on. unless you want a lugged Vibram sole similar to the 404 Kudu indy, that can be done by any cobbler.

Incorrect sir, Moulded Shoe carries the Alden commando sole & can do a conversion to make it a commando sole.

Thanks guys! Y'all have been super helpful and I really appreciate the feedback.

Ended up hearing back from Bryan at LS; I got the last pair of Ultimate Indys in Chromexcel in my size! They shipped them out today so I'll be a proud owner (in the flesh) sometime next week. Beyond chuffed.

I'll post some pictures once I have them. Bryan included a complimentary container of Aldens neutral polish -- which was super kind of him. Can't wait!

Gentlemen,

My new Leather Soul 4 eyelet PTB in color 8. Single leather sole feels amazing.

Please excuse my poor iPhone shots, will retake some more soon.

This is SO much better than the normal PTB. SO much.

I picked up some snuff suede boots off of ebay a few days ago, and was disappointed with the fit. I have a pair of Indy's which fit well, and assuming that because both boots are on the trubalance last, I got them in the same size. These seem to be shorter and narrower than my indys. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm not sure if it was this individual pair of boots, or this model in general.

I don't know if I love the plantation crepe either... bummer. They are good looking boots though.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANMOUNCEMENT:

Leather Soul - Beverly Hills just received the Style Forum Boot in #8 (Plaza Last, Medallion Toe) today. Little too narrow for my wide feet, but I hope that this helps somebody.

Also, Whiskey LWB have arrived to Alden San Fran and Pre-orders have begun and hopefully won't be over for TSM's Ravello Wing Tip Boot with leather sole.

If anybody knows of anything other arrivals or finds stuff out in the future, please let me know. I am a 9D. I have a brand new J, Crew Ravello LWB and a Ravello Chukka , neither of which had touched even carpet. I'll make a formal post as my intent was not to break rules. Just wanted to let you guys know of three awesome new offerings.

My Aldens are ready to be shipped after pre-ordering Whiskey LWB from Alden SF last summer (outstanding service btw).

Can't wait to get it. I've seen these with denim and the looks are incredible. My collection has started: Natural Indy's (Epaulet), 4 eyelet color 8 PTB (LS Hawaii) and now Whiskey LWB with antique edgetrim (Alden SF).:nodding:

I've owned and sold both the snuff boot like yours and similar Roy boot because of this. Neither fit like an Indy despite being on Trubalance. Luckily my AF 53 PTs fit like a champ.
