I received my tobacco chamois ranger mocs back from B. Nelson after replacing the crepe sole with dainite. Haven't worn them yet but pretty happy with the resole. Shoes are noticeably lighter without Alden's crepe. Here are before and after pics.
Looks good. Nick always does a good job. Did you just get tired of crepe? Your old soles looked to have some miles left.
With the JCrew PCT boots, many others (myself included) have gone 1/2 size up from our usual Barrie shoe size.
That's interesting, but also confusing since you would tend to think they would be the same if built on the same last with the same leather type. Makes me wonder if I should reorder them. Do other boots in Barrie last also have this trait?
I originally was interested in the made for Unionmade Kirkwood and Halleck boots on Barrie because of their commando soles.
