As is the Snap last on similar BB models, correct?

Yea...that was a good one, RTP. I give Ryden respect for that one.

Went to Anatomica in Paris. Highly recommended, Charles is a real gentleman. It is a shame Alden does not make shell for Moulded Shoe anymore.

Won some Alden for Unionmade NIB blue suede Dovers on eBay last night. If the seller is on here, thanks!

i totally agree with you. Charles is very helpful. they have been working with Alden for over 20 yrs & only have Modified last. first they size you up with the Brannock device & give you the Ideal shoe to try. i bought 2 pairs when i visited them & from then on they update me with NEW  arrivals in my size, send me pics for me to choose. everyone should visit them when in Paris

Thanks.  Leffot, as you learned.  I am waiting for the their naval boots as well, and seriously debated whether to pass on these, thinking they were too closely related.  Once these arrived, there was no debate.  I chose....wisely.

A sidebar re: Leffot.  I really like a lot of the shoes that come round on this thread, obviously.  But something about Leffot's makeups really grab me.  When they offered the Day Tripper, that was the first time I said I have to have those. Then it happened with the  Naval boot, after I had been eyeing the J Crew CTB for a long time.  The #8 dover and the tobacco chamois longwings were others where I didn't even hesitate to purchase.  I lost an eye for their red-interior 8 LWB's, but I couldn't justify them.  Maybe it's their antique edge that draws me in, who knows?

I think the big one that remains out there for me (that I know of) is a cigar boot on plaza with a commando sole, but I'll have to look somewhere else for that opportunity.

The Alden company stores (SFO, DC) should have standard models in stock. I got my 990 in C width in SFO without any pre-order.
