still burns me that they 'lost' my pair in shipping. I've yet to find another pair in 11.5 that has that shade.

I forgot about that. That sucks!

I passed because I already had a pair incoming and I ended up parting with that pair and now have no Ravello LWB's

Thoughts on whether an 8.5C Trubalance is much off from 8.5D Barrie? D too wide for me in Trubalance -- wondering if I could make the Innsbruck virtually a Barrie Indy (sort of).

yea I still have the darker pair from DC with dark edging but I'd gladly pony up for the jcrew version if it ever came around again

Yep, I wasn't referring to the edge, just everything else.  Has there ever been an Alden Alt Wien in black shell or (gasp) one of the rare colors?

like the Plaza lasted Ravello medallion captoes that DC did?

What is you Gentlemen's view on the NST boot (not shoe) on Aberdeen vs Plaza? Waiting for the Plaza NST boot to be confirmed by JGilbert but now have the opportunity to buy the NST boot on Aberdeen...

I just got mine in for 11.5D.

Can anyone tell me the difference between the Alt Wein and the common medallion cap toe blucher?  Only thing I can see is Barrie vs. Aberdeen.  Am I missing something else?

The last (Barrie vs Aberdeen) and the weld/edge color. Antique vs Black.

Stock Alden medallion cap toe blucher:

Epaulet Alt Wein makeup:

Both are nice models. Funny how the last and edge trim make these - at least for me - completely different shoes for completely different attire.

OK, if there's such a thing as a black shell Alt Wien, then I'm definitely pulling the trigger on the king preorder.  Maybe even if not.  I believe in having shoes in "threes" and I could probably live with the Aberdeen medallion cap toe blucher in black shell as the third if such an Alt Wien doesn't exist.

Yeah, that will probably be the closest equivalent.  By the time I size an Aberdeen, it looks like a Barrie anyway.  So, I've pulled the trigger on the 9.5 D Epaulet, and will hope that a Ravello or whatever Alt Wien will materialize in the future.  Now, to forget about all this for the next 6-18 months . . .

Unfortunately Aberdeen is just awkward on my feet. It feels sloppy and short in Barrie size, and I didn't want to go through the order/return rigamarole to figure it out since I live in an Alden-free state (Colorado).
