I believe they were originally being made for LS until they were found with a slight blemish.

Ed from TSM hooked me up through the irregulars list.

I passed up on a Ravello LWB in my size the other day, mostly because I have a Carmina 922 in Congnac.

Is Carmina Cognac the same as Alden Ravello?

I must admit that I got a bit frustrated with Alden because of their unavailability in exotic cordovans....

So, I gave up on them and turned to Carmina instead.

But now I have a bit of a renewed interest in Alden....

This is the closest match i could find locally. It's waxed cow shoulder. Super stiff with a great feel/hand.

It's fully saddle stitched, by hand, 9 stitches per inch (no machine stitching, no rivets). If i were to do it again i would change a few things.

I thought I would share.

Sorry for the poor lighting.

BC - amazing shoes, amazing bag. Seriously, no words. Very nicely done.

I have no doubt that C2's posts are insightful and add much to this community. But yes, I will admit that I spend much more time on his avatar than I care to admit.

Some nice pick ups there.  Looks like a couple pair of shoes that I noted but delayed on.

Watchman,

Carmina's Cognac is not the same as Ravello. Based upon my conversations with Horween, Ravello is a color reserved exclusively for Alden. However, what Ravello actually is, is a pretty moving target. Those Carminas provide a nice medium brown color, which is where the Ravello color is supposed to lie. Enjoy your shoes, those are all beautiful shoes, the Strand is AE's best design by a long shot (in my opinion).

For an example, see a prior post by Mike illustrating 3 pairs of shoes, all of which are Ravello.  The range is truly shocking.

And yes, Strand is AE's best design by a mile IMO.  Others may disagree, and they can argue w/ me on the AE thread :)

, Uncle those are fabulous cigar cap toe boots!

I hope everyone here has a great 4th tomorrow!

Today I went with cigar, I mean (new) Ravello PTBs.  We had a severe thunder storm alert so I sported my new swims over-shoes.  They're a smidge big; do you think they make tongue pads for overshoes? biggrin.gif

Okay, maybe it is just me, but I really do not get this whole swims thing. Do you take it off when you get indoors or something? I think you poor Ravellos look sad in that overshoe. I would feel bad for them if they had to be covered up the whole day... I personally just wear Bostonians on the 3 days of heavy rain we get per year... On light rain days, I go with my #8 Perf Tip, my dedicated victims.

Thanks a Million for the insight. I must admit that it is a bit frustrating ...

The good news is that I am on the list at Alden NYC for the SW Bal in Ravello, I believe it will be on the Tremont Last.

Is the Tremont TTS?

Thanks!
