Damn they are pretty. Thanks for the inspiration, BK.

I think I will be down in Philly in the next week. I'll stop by Sherman Bros. as they have both models I am interested in, albeit not in my size, on display.

I have actually considered selling my Tanker. GASP! I love it, but I feel it is going the way of my shell Indy...to nice(shiny) for casual and too casual to wear to the office. I have really been re-thinking a lot of things lately. haha
Yup. I am not a fan of plain toe shoes. I tried a PTB and a Chukka in the past.

2210 is the other model I was going to suggest. They would be dressier than your tankers, if you're feeling those are too casual.

Yea, I have the Leffot Tanker. It's funny, when I first got into Alden I wanted shoes/boots to only wear casually outside of work. I didn't want to "waste them" at work. Now I don't wear shell casually outside of work(for the most part) and I want to be able to wear them to work, first. haha. I'm just thinking of all the boots I have incoming and I still want to get and I wonder where the antique edge tanker fits. I have a Dark Oak Galway coming and I will also be commissioning a full country calf, Vedt constructed Galway for daily S@#t kicking fall/winter/spring use...

I still doubt I'll be able to part with them. I don't who I'm fooling....

HaHa. You apparently have a fashion trend to start. Sounds like a pretty expensive one though, as you need to spend 1400 to pull off with Shells...

Actually, if you have a pair of color 8 tassels you could pick up this single (black shell tassels) to go for the two tone look... should be pretty cheap!

Color 8 or black shell straight tip, Aberdeen (recent picks have me really interested
Black shell monochromatic saddles
black shell wingtip bal, Tremont
black shell wingtip boot, barrie

anyone in love with any of these options?

My 2 cents ....

I own all models listed save for the black shell WT boot (but I do own the black calf C&J for RL Lindrick boot). Of those listed, and all else being equal, get the 2210 (color 8 NST). Of those listed, if you want something other than a blucher, get the 993 (black shell mono saddle).

Good luck.

The only one of those is my recent purchase of the black shell WT boot which I love. See my picture I posted a bit back. The color 8 NST is obviously a favorite around here as well and looks great as long as you can fit in the Aberdeen last.

Darkening the antique edge would not be very difficult.

True, but not sure how confident I'd be in darkening the welt. It's probably moot as I'm sure I'll use them and just continue to add...

Have BNelson darken the welt. I have had them do this (cigar LWB) and they did a nice job. Charge was something like $35.
