Gentlemen, I just picked these up on Ebay and have searched the forum and other references for how to treat Aniline shoes. Do I put a little brown shoe polish on the back of these to cover the few scuffs on the heel? Thanks for the help.
I'm not familiar with that shoe, but it looks almost like a pull up or CXL type leather. IF that's the case, I'd use a combination of Saphir Dubbin and Saphir Greasy Leather Cream to whip them back into shape
Upon first read I'm thinking 'what the heck is Tif talking about'? In my defense, I exceeded my self-imposed 2 drink limit at a Father's Day picnic last night so I'm feeling a little sluggish this morning. Once I figured it out, got a good laugh out of it.
Kind of related, my jcrew 8's with exposed eyelets on crepe sold last night on EBAY. I have this pit in my stomach as of all of my shells (rare included) these are easily my favorites and I know they will never come my way again. If they were 1/2 size smaller, I would wear these into the ground.
Oh well, they're only shoes. At least that what I keep telling myself.
Don't worry about them too much sir, as Tif said, they are just shoes. You could try checking out Frans Boone, Frans really likes to do exposed eyelets as well.

Various models made by Leather Soul (no clue if / when these are available again)
The most common style is the straight tip captoe. I have this boot and consider it a classic - I wear it with both suits and jeans in the fall and winter.
The Plaza NST boot would be more your style if it is made.
My black tanker boots from Context were my most worn boots this past winter. To my knowledge only one run of black tanker boots has ever been made. I highly recommend it to anyone if it is made again.
The various black wingtip boots also look good.
EDIT - It looks like Leather Soul did a run of black cordovan tankers as well.
Hey Thanks!!! There are a few more than I had seen during my quick research. I was thinking of doing the Cap Toe. Kathy offered to run me a 10.5C. I may try Yenni first to see how her Plaza NST proposition went first.
I agree with you on the Black Wingtips by the way. They are beautiful, but I think that will be something to save for a few years out... I would want them to be on the Plaza last. :-)
Are there no 10.5 - 11 Alden wearers? I remain shocked that TSM's Cigar LWB has gone unsold (it's size 11) and Frans Boone has a couple of offerings in Cigar (plain-toe boot! PTB on an antique edge!) in 11 and 10.5, respectively, that remain unsold.
