But most photos I can find on line seem so portray plain "snuff" as more of a caramel color - are yours "snuff" or are yours the "Dark Brown" version like the ones from TSM?:

Mine are labeled as snuff. I bought them from O'Connells during their Alden clear out sale. I can pull the model number out of them when I get home. Snuff varies a bit from shoe to shoe, batch to batch kind of like Shell.

I agree that snuff can vary. But even in its darkest form it comes nowhere near Alden's mocha (dark brown) kid suede. I have various models in each color.

So what color do you think Mike's are - regular "snuff" or dark brown?

And if you could throw up a pick of then together that would be appreciated....

It seems to be the least in-demand of Alden models.

I'm normally ambivalent about both color 4 and saddles, but I think these shoes stunning. Too rich for my blood but there is no doubt in my mind that they will sell. And it's got nothing to do with unicorns, those are just really slick shoes.

I bought this model in the past but returned it. The red/black combo was too jarring for my taste.

It is hard to deny how these look.

I am partial, as they are mine, but they are beautiful.

The other pair is from J Crew, the Tobacco Longwings.

Does anybody have any experience and/or pictures with both of these colors? Are they different enough to justify keeping both?

I'll also add that I don't wear wingtips a lot. I mainly lean towards the indy boots for casual, and Alfred Sargent double monk straps or Alden cordovan boots for work/ formal occasions.

Sorry to come tardy to the party, but depending on your size, Epaulet has alpine grain shortwings for $368.
